31st October is the deadline for filing tax returns in paper format.
Some folk still like to use paper, but they have to submit tax returns much earlier than those who file online. If you normally submit your tax return through the Government Gateway or via your accountant, don’t panic when you see the 31st October deadline being advertised on television. Most people do not have to submit their returns until 31st January, but we recommend that returns are submitted as early as possible.
There are some complex tax cases which must be submitted in a paper format, but these are fairly rare. See this article for more details: https://tinyurl.com/yawldf5r
If you normally submit a hard copy of the form, and you miss the deadline, please give us a call: we will be able to help. Please call Andrew Leggate 01763 289607.
